"Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God."
These are the words of William Carey, the Father of Modern Missions. After preaching this message from Isaiah 54:1-4, William Carey and his family sailed for India to take the gospel message to the world God had called him to. Carey's family suffered greatly during the early years of the ministry and it was 7 years before he saw the first person give their life to Christ. Through it all, he believed what he preached: "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God." This month is missions month. We will be looking at passages of Scripture where people expected great things from God and attempted great things for God. Please join us for this four week series.
This year's theme verse is Matthew 16:18:
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. (CSB)
